Mission

The Space Component Command (SpCC) bundles tasks in the field of military space utilization for the coordinated deployment, protection and defence of space systems. This mission corresponds to an overall national security task, comparable to securing German airspace, for example. All space utilization activities of the Bundeswehr are seen as a permanent task: Space Situational Awareness (SSASpace Situational Awareness), the planning and conducting of space operations, mission support from space and the operation of the Bundeswehr's space systems. The German SpCC bears overall operational responsibility for this permanent task.
