The engineers of the Naval Support Command take care of the functioning of the Navy‘s equipment worldwide.
In order for the fleet to go to sea and deploy around the world, it needs someone having its back at home.
The formations and services of the support forces not only take care of the technical condition of the vessels, but are responsible for health and recruitment, as well. Also, every sailor of the German Navy has attended at least one of the naval schools in his career.
Last but not least, the Navy has two further entities with special expertise: the NATONorth Atlantic Treaty Organization Centre of Excellence for Operations in Confined and Shallow Waters and the Naval Shipping Office, the link between the Navy and civil shipping.
