Show directionsWhat does the coat of arms of the Regional Territorial Command Rhineland-Palatinate represent?
The coat of arms of the Regional Territorial Command Rhineland-Palatinate has a white background with a centred Iron Cross of the Bundeswehr in black. Superimposed on this in the centre is the coat of arms of Rhineland-Palatinate. It thereby symbolises the mission of the Regional Territorial Command, which is to be the first representative and point of contact of the Bundeswehr within and for the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The rounded shield corresponds to the shape of the coat of arms of Rhineland-Palatinate. The white-based coat of arms has an additional border to strengthen the contour. The colour red refers to the coat of arms of the city of Mainz, which features silver wheels on a red background. Essentially, the silver shield with the red border of the Regional Territorial Command cites these colours in an inverted order.
