The Regional Territorial Command Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel is the supreme territorial command authority of the Bundeswehr within the federal state. It is the first point of contact for the Schleswig-Holstein state government when it comes to civil-military cooperation.
Visitor magnet: the Kiel Week annually attracts more than three million people to the Kieler Förde inlet. In the northernmost federal state, this event always also generates great interest in the Bundeswehr.

The coat of arms of the Regional Territorial Command Schleswig-Holstein conforms largely to the coat of arms of the federal state. It consists of a divided shield with black borders. Symbolising the Schleswig region, the left half shows two lions with red claws, both facing inward and one above the other, on a yellow background. The right half shows the nettle leaf on a red background, symbolising the region of Holstein. Located at the base of the shield and depicted in silver with blue borders is the Iron Cross of the Bundeswehr.
