Address

  • What does the coat of arms of the Regional Territorial Command Berlin represent?

The Regional Territorial Command Berlin has the same coat of arms as the former Garrison Command Berlin. It shows the Iron Cross on a white background. The cross is the national symbol of the Bundeswehr, depicted in the version of 1813, the year of its foundation by King Frederick William III of Prussia. It features oak leaves, the foundation year and the Prussian crown. Centred above this is the Berlin bear – as an indication of the garrison city – encircled by a round, red border.

The internal unit crest was approved for the former Military Region Command 100 in 1991. Following the command’s renaming as Garrison Command Berlin in 1997, it was used by this authority until its decommissioning in 2013.
