Bundeswehr logistics is essential to the sustainable operational readiness of the armed forces. It ensures an adequate supply of materiel, ammunition, fuel and rations; provides transport and protection to the troops; and helps to maintain the warfighting capability of the armed forces through state-of-the-art maintenance services. Operating under the umbrella of the Bundeswehr Joint Support Command, Bundeswehr logistics personnel are closely connected not only with the Services but also with Germany’s multinational partners within NATONorth Atlantic Treaty Organization. They are thus able to ensure the Bundeswehr’s 24/7 capacity to act – whether in Germany or Lithuania. Success in national and collective defence can only be achieved with sustainable logistics.
