Air Force Center of Aerospace Medicine
The Air Force Center of Aerospace Medicine pools functional responsibility in the field of military aviation medicine.
Mission
Its tasks range from selection and aptitude testing to aeromedical examinations, interdisciplinary assessments and long-term monitoring of military aviation personnel.
The Surgeon General of the German Air Force also acts as the Senior Flight Surgeon of the Bundeswehr and thus exercises functional control over the flight surgeons in the Army and Navy in the functional area of aviation medicine. As the only departmental research institute of the Federal Ministry of Defense, the Air Force Center of Aerospace Medicine provides its services on the basis of scientific methods and conducts its own application-oriented research.
