Mission

The Air Force Forces Command is a major air command. In its capacity as a force provider, the Command plans, coordinates and controls all areas essential for the preparation of Air Force missions.

Air forces are characterized by special capabilities such as rapid response, flexibility and precise, scalable and effects-oriented long-range engagement of targets. The Air Force Forces Command – together with its subordinate units and agencies – provides these capabilities of the German Air Force in a manner that operational and materiel readiness is always ensured.

The mission of the Air Force Forces Command can be broken down into two major fields of activity:

  • command and control of subordinate units and agencies,
  • provision of German Air Force units for Bundeswehr missions in a manner that personnel and materiel readiness is always ensured.
