Bundeswehr CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear Defence Command

The Bundeswehr CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear Defence Command is responsible for ensuring the reconnaissance of CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear agents and comparable hazardous industrial substances, and the decontamination and disinfection of personnel, material and infrastructure on operations. Accordingly, the Command located in Bruchsal conducts basic research and supports training and development activities.

Mission

The Bundeswehr CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear Defence Command is responsible for the Bundeswehr’s CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear defence conceptual groundwork and trains and provides CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear defence forces for operations. 
In accordance with Article 35 of the German Basic Law, the Bundeswehr CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear Defence Command can be requested to provide administrative assistance and support disaster relief operations in the event of grave accidents or natural disasters. As a Joint Support and Enabling Service activity, the Bundeswehr CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear Defence Command is a civil-military cooperation partner, especially in the areas of CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear efence and military fire protection. 
The Bundeswehr CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear Defence Command’s Policy and Forces Development Division is responsible for conceptual development, training policies and directives, as well as the training contents and organisation of the CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear Defence, Safety and Environmental Protection School based in Sonthofen. The Division is also involved as the responsible authority for armaments and in-service use, and committed in the relevant NATO and EU bodies.
Moreover, the Bundeswehr CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear Defence Command has taken the lead of the CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear Protection cluster within the Framework Nations Concept (FNCFramework Nations Concept) initiative and accordingly is responsible for its implementation. As framework nation, Germany has a coordinating role for CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear defence and the protection against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats (CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear Protection). One of the initiative’s objectives is to enable CBRNchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear defence forces from NATO and EU countries to conduct joint multinational operations.
