73 Tactical Air Wing Steinhoff
73 Tactical Air Wing in Laage is located in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and is one of four Eurofighter bases operated by the German Air Force. Eurofighter training also takes place there.
Mission
The main task of 73 Tactical Air Wing Steinhoff is to train all Eurofighter pilots of the German Air Force and of the Austrian Armed Forces on the fighter jet. With its quick reaction alert element, the Wing regularly takes over the task of securing airspace in northern Germany from its sister unit, 71 Tactical Air Wing Richthofen, for a limited period of time. Thus, 73 Tactical Air Wing Steinhoff temporarily performs air sovereignty tasks as required.
