WTDWehrtechnische Dienststelle 41 is the technical center of competence for the Federal Ministry of Defense, for BAAINBwBundesamt für Ausrüstung, Informationstechnik und Nutzung der Bundeswehr and for other public or civilian customers, both at national and international level, in the field of land-based vehicles systems, related vehicle components and mobile electric power supply.
The WTDWehrtechnische Dienststelle's scope of tasks covers land-based vehicle systems, the related vehicle components (propulsion and running gear components, electrochemical energy sources and storage devices, vehicle electrics, testing technologies, autonomous driving, robotics and vetronics) and mobile electric power supply.

This Bundeswehr Technical Center works for the Federal Ministry of Defense, the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBwBundesamt für Ausrüstung, Informationstechnik und Nutzung der Bundeswehr), the armed forces and other public and civilian customers, both at national and international level. The Bundeswehr Technical Center for Land-Based Vehicle Systems, Engineer and General Field Equipment is organized into a Staff element, three Divisions, an Engineering and Operational Services element and an Economic and Administrative Services element.
The Staff assists the Director, WTDWehrtechnische Dienststelle 41 in fulfilling his responsibilities. It provides control elements in terms of business economics, grouped together under the headings of Controlling, Scheduling of Work and Cost & Performance Responsibility.
